Lecanto, FL— According to an internal e-mail, Citrus County Public Works Director and Assistant Administrator, Jeff Rogers, has accepted a position with the Hernando County government. It is expected that Hernando County will issue a press release outlining Rogers’ new role by Monday.
The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners now must decide whether to split up the positions of Public Works Director and Assistant County Administrator into two distinct positions or seek an individual who is capable of performing both roles.
The cost to split Rogers’ current hybrid position into two distinct roles may cost the County over $100,000 annually.
If the Citrus BOCC decides to split up the positions, Citrus County will have openings in the following director-level and specialized positions: Assistant County Administrator, Public Works Director, Visitor and Convention Bureau Director, Economic Development Director, Information Systems Coordinator, Fire Chief and Animal Services Staff Veterinarian.
